Learn the latest in felt fashion, combining fine wool with fine woven silk to make a fabulous new fabric that drapes wonderfully. Each student will make a beautiful unique scarf using fine merino wool and hand-dyed silk in fabulous colours Nuno felt makes a great fabric not only by itself but combined with other fabrics as well. It makes a great fabric for cutting and sewing as well.

Level: Beginner Prerequisite: No prior experience is needed. Experienced felters may discuss more complicated patterns beforehand and take part in this class. Class Size: not more than 6 Time: 10 am – 4 pm Cost: 5 hours – $55 Member/$70 Non-Member Materials fee: $20 Wear clothes that you do not mind getting wet.

 

 

Custom Fit Wet Felted Hat:

Learn to wet felt with wool and silk while making a hat in your choice of style and colour. Here you will start out will a pile of fine soft Merino wool and by the end of the class you will have a custom-fit hat.

Beautiful Wet Felted Flowers:

Ready to try wet felting but want to make something other than a garment? Make two different types of flowers in this fun evening class. You will use fine merino wool and delicate silk hankies. Learn to make stamens and stems to give your flowers more interest. You will take home a pattern so you can make more flowers at home.

3D Wet Felted Vessel/Pot:

 

Description: Interested in 3D felting but don’t want a hat? Maybe a decorative vessel/pot is more to your liking. Learn the resist method of making felt. Shape and mould to make a unique piece of art

Wet Felted Slippers

 

Make yourself a great pair of custom slippers. Starting with fine loose wool you will learn how to wet felt while making yourself a personalized pair of slippers in your choice of boat or shoe style. You will have a choice of colour and there will be lots of extra wool in many colours and some hand-dyed silk for you to personalize your slippers. Each person will leave with finished slippers.

Felted Mittens

 

Make some no sew, cozy, wet-felted Mittens for the winter. Pick your colour and pick your embellishments for a unique pair of mittens. Learn 2 ways to make them fit better at the wrist so you can keep the snow out.

Bubble Bracelet

The cuffs are a fun way to make a statement. Learn basic wet-felting techniques while keeping your wrists stylish. Learn how to make the 3D embellishments reminiscent of underwater life. These are great as is or you can embellish them with buttons, beads, charms or other treasures in the little cups when dry. You will pick your main colour and I will provide lots of extra colours in wool and silk to help you personalize it.  No sewing and no experience necessary.

Wet Felted Birdhouse

Make a funky birdhouse for your fine feathered friends. Starting with loose wool we will make the felt and the birdhouse at the same time. Everyone leaves with one large or two small birdhouses. You will have a variety of shapes and sizes to choose from. You can pick your base colour and there will be lots of extras to decorate with. The birdhouses are weather resistant and meant to be hung outside to brighten your yard and provide a home for our feathered friends.

Level: Beginner Prerequisite: No prior experience is needed. Experienced felters may discuss more complicated patterns beforehand and take part in this class. Nuno Felt bracelet

Come get a taste of nuno felting with this quick and easy class. Nuno felting is a technique that combines wool and fabric into a great new fabric. Each student will make a cuff-style bracelet using silk or open-weave cotton fabric and wool in their choice of colours.

Needle Felted Ornament or sheep

Learn the basics of needle felting, the latest craze! This portable, do-anywhere craft is perfect for the modern busy life and for just relaxing. Using some simple tools you will learn to make shapes to turn into anything you would like. During class, you will make a sheep in your choice of colours. You will make your sheep naked and then clothe it in handpicked, hand-dyed tiny Bluefaced Leicester curls.

Prerequisite: No previous experience is needed
Class Size: not more than 10
Students should bring scissors, clothes that can get wet or a waterproof apron.
Cost: 3h -$35 Member/ $40 Non-Member
Materials fee: $20 material fee: includes everything you need and several reusable articles you get to keep.

If you are interested in hosting a class a minimum of 4 people are needed. The maximum is 10 people but numbers depend on the space available.
